Wichtige Änderung der "eduroam"-WLAN-Konfiguration
Liebe NutzerIn des drahtlosen Netzes "eduroam" !
Die fortschreitende Ausbreitung des Dienstes "eduroam" (https://www.eduroam.org) zwingt Sie zu einer kleinen Änderung in der Konfiguration Ihres WLAN-Gerätes.
Die bisher nur außerhalb der Uni Siegen notwendige Angabe des Regionszusatzes (@uni-siegen.de) an die Benutzerkennung wird nun auch für die lokale Nutzung an der Uni Siegen zwingend.
Dies wird notwendig, da sich Angehörige der Universität Siegen bei der Nutzung des Eduroam-Dienstes in anderen Einrichtungen (z.B. andere Universitäten / Fachhochschulen) ansonsten nicht anmelden können und sich infolge dessen an die örtlichen Betreiber wenden.
Die einfachste Möglichkeit, den Regionszusatz an die richtige Position in der Konfiguration einzufügen, ist die automatische Einrichtung mit dem eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) des DFN-Vereins. Damit ist für einen Großteil der mobilen Geräte, eine (fast) automatische Konfiguration des eduroam-Profils möglich.
Das Tool ist verfügbar unter der Adresse http://edit.dfn.de CAT-Installationsanleitungen auf http://www.zimt.uni-siegen.de/dienste/netzwerk/eduroam/ .
Im Idealfall läuft die Installation reibungslos durch.
Sollten jedoch Probleme bei der Ausführung des Installationstools auftreten, prüfen Sie bitte die Tipps auf der Uni-Seite(http://www.zimt.uni-siegen.de/dienste/netzwerk/eduroam/) und wenden sich an Benutzerservice(H-D2203) oder IT-Serviceteam(H-D2204).
Für diese Änderung haben Sie noch Zeit bis Ende Februar 2014. Bis dahin werden falsch konfigurierte WLAN-Geräte noch toleriert. Ab März können Teilnehmer ohne Regionszusatz jedoch nicht mehr an dem WLAN "eduroam" teilnehmen, sind also vom drahtlosen Netz der Uni Siegen ausgeschlossen.
Important Changes to "eduroam" wireless configuration

The increasing use of the service " eduroam " ( https://www.eduroam.org ) makes a small change in the configuration of your wireless devicenecessary.
The indication of the region supplement ( @uni-siegen.de ) to the user ID - so far only required outside the University of Siegen - is now mandatory for local use at the University of Siegen, too.
Otherwise members of the University of Siegen using the eduroam service in other institutions (eg other universities / universities of applied sciences) will be unable to sign in and consequently turn to the local provider.
The easiest way to insert the additional region supplement in the configuration is the automatic setup with the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT ) of the DFN -Verein. And thus, an (almost ) automatic configuration of the eduroam profile is possible for the majority of mobile devices.

Ideally, the installation will go through without any problems.

The change should be made by the end of February 2014. Until then misconfigured wireless devices will still be tolerated. From March on, however, users can no longer participate in the WLAN " eduroam " without the region supplement and thus will be excluded from the wireless network of the University of Siegen.
