  • WIFI access at the University of Siegen for employees/students from Siegen

Authentication is established via the DFN network with the home university, while network access is provided by the host university.

Safely logging in to eduroam - here's how:

Due to technical requirements on the part of the eduroam operator (https://www.eduroam.org) after the 23 April 2019 the access to the eduroam WIFI will only be possible if the set-up via the CAT tool has been completed. Manual configuration is possible but not supported on all devices. The installation with the CAT tool is strongly recommended, because when registering in the eduroam WIFI the server certificate is checked and thus security is increased.

Which means that all pre existing connections must be renewed.

Down below you will find several configurationguides on how to establish the connection to the eduroam WIFI.

Important to know is that whenever you are asked to type in your username and password you must add "@uni-siegen.de" right after your username. (for example g123456@uni-siegen.de)

Likewise, the external identity must not be equal to the inner identity - therefore please enter for the external identity anonymous2018@uni-siegen.de.
