Dear students, dear teachers,
Today we would like to inform you about current developments in the central learning management system moodle.
In mid-September, our moodle system will receive an extensive update and with it many improvements and an expanded scope of services. The system's user interface will change in many details, making it easier to use moodle. This update is based on the new user interface boost campus, which the association moodle an Hochschulen e.V. has adapted especially for universities.
Unfortunately, the update will take some time, so the Moodle service will be unavailable from 12 to 14 September.
In order to prepare you for the changes in the best possible way, we have prepared a comprehensive support and advice offer for you:
Test environment
A temporary test environment will be activated. In this test environment, you will have the opportunity to get to know the new interface and familiarise yourself with the extended functions. We recommend that you take advantage of this opportunity to be able to use the new functions directly later.

Plugin
In addition, we would like to inform you that we will be introducing another plugin that you have requested, which will make learning and teaching even more convenient. The "Studierendenorder" will be introduced. This will allow all documents uploaded there to be viewed by all course members, while an optional pre-switchable release for the lecturer is possible.
Webex instead of BBB
Last but not least, we would like to inform you that the video conferencing service "Big Blue Button" will be replaced by the seamless integration of Webex, which has been activated in the meantime. This means that you can continue to use video conferencing for courses and group projects.
To help you get started with the new functions, we offer training courses and information material in which you can learn all the details and possibilities. P.S.: For a transitional period, the old design of the Moodle system will also be available for you to get used to the new functions without additional effort. From summer semester 2024, however, we will only offer the new design. We therefore recommend that you familiarise yourself with the new interface as early as possible.
